Matinee Concert
Staying true to its philosophy of serving as an elite organization contributing to the health and happiness of humankind, Ildong Pharmaceutical has long been involved in various public-service activities.
One example is Matinee Concert with Ildong Pharmaceutical, a series of concerts held at Yongin Cultural Foundation’s Poeun Art Hall. Ildong Pharmaceutical has been the concert’s exclusive sponsor since November 2012.
The concerts are held once a month under varying themes and feature some of the most renowned classical musicians in the country performing an incredibly diverse range of repertoires. The name of the concert is derived from matin, the French word for morning.
The performances are also accompanied by detailed and entertaining commentary by a professor and are, therefore, easy to enjoy and appreciate even by those with limited knowledge of classical music.
By offering the members of the public opportunities to enjoy classical music without paying a hefty price for admission, Matinee Concerts with Ildong Pharmaceutical almost always sell out despite taking place before noon on weekdays and have gained a loyal following of devoted fans.
In fact, a recent survey conducted by Ildong Pharmaceutical showed an extreme degree of satisfaction amongst the concert attendees and revealed why the concert has become one of the most celebrated art and culture events in the region.
In addition to these concerts, Ildong Pharmaceutical also sponsors the Korean Students’ Glee Club, art foundations, and various other art and culture organizations and events.
While already involved in a number of mécénat activities, Ildong Pharmaceutical made a decision to partner up with Yongin Cultural Foundation as an exclusive sponsor of a series of concerts and offer emotional refugees to those feeling tired and beaten from the chaos of modern living.
Here, mécénat is a word describing corporate support and sponsorship of art, culture, and sports events and common-interest projects and has its roots in Gaius Cilnius Maecenas, the Roman politician known for his generous patronage of the arts.
Today, Matinee Concerts with Ildong Pharmaceutical offer members of the public easy access to a music genre most erroneously believe is exclusively for the elites of the society.
In return, the concerts allow Ildong Pharmaceutical to connect with the public as something more than a pharmaceuticals company and build meaningful relationships with consumers.
Ildong Pharmaceutical will continue to contribute to the health and happiness of the members of the public and to engage in mécénat activities serving the interests of the people.
